Harry Bulkeley lives in Galesburg, Illinois, "the next town alphabetically after Galena," he points out. A Circuit Judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, Harry has been interested in the War Between the States since he was young, even getting his family to visit battlefields on summer vacation. "It wasn't until I attended the 135th at Gettysburg and grew my beard that I noticed my resemblance to U.S. Grant," Harry says.  "That led to my portraying him for 'Grant vs. Lee: Wilderness to Cold Harbor' and an article in USA Today that said I was a "dead ringer" for Sam. Our staff will be featured in The American Experience special on Grant which airs on PBS in 2001."
