For Steve Gipson, reenacting is not only a family affair, but a livelihood.  While the Gipsons all make reenacting their hobby, Steve also hits the road for personal appearances.  His popular living history presentations are given at malls, schools and theaters.  He portrays a federal officer, while a partner performs a rebel impression.  The act is enhanced by a portable set, complete with tents, camp furniture and period implements.

Shooting the video resulted in a "hairy" moment for Steve, whose very long hair is historically appropriate, but didn't match the look of General Rosecrans.  "I told Milton to put away the scissors and not worry," Steve says.  Sure enough, with the help of his wife Allison, a talented makeup artist, a perfectly barbered Rosecrans was ready for the camera--and not a lock was shorn.
